Dawn’s Diaries 9-19-25

It seems someone hit the fast-forward button on the seasons. Just the other day the Valley was wrapped in green, and today-poof!- the trees are dressed in crimson gowns, golden scarves, and a dash of pumpkin-spice orange. Mother Nature clearly couldn’t wait to show off her fall wardrobe this year! This weekend is going to be the perfect time to enjoy all of it!

This Friday, we are proud to announce that we are hosting the Pumkin Needle Felting in the Bears Den, and we are so excited to see all the beautiful pumpkins everyone creates! Then on Saturday there is the NH Harvest Festival just a few steps away in Town Square. Sunday is the Waterville Valley Mountain Race. So many activities to enjoy with family and friends.

Lets not forget all the regular favorites for this time of year! Let me grab my brush so I can paint a picture for you.

Start the weekend off by hopping on a bike-pedal through the crisp air, leaves crunching under the tires like nature’s bubble wrap! Every turn of the wheel feels like flipping a page in autumn’s picture book! When you’re ready for a change of pace, grab a paddle and glide across the pond. The water mirror’s the fiery treetops so perfectly, it feels like you’re rowing straight through a painting. Back on shore, trade your paddle for a disc! Each throw takes a flight like a wandering leaf, carried by the breeze toward a basket framed in gold and crimson. Feeling patient? Cast a fishing line into the glowing waters. The fish might not be biting, but the real catch is the view dancing off the ripples. And when your legs need a rest, take a seat on the chairlift. Float above the Valley as if autumn stitched together the worlds coziest magic carpet just for you. With every slow rise, you’re lifted right into a living postcard!
