Dawn’s Diary 5-16-25

The last several days have been amazing, with all the beautiful people here for the Shine Conference! We FINALLY got to witness the transformation of the ice arena into a concert venue with an art exhibit theme! The energy level in this town with all those women rejoicing was absolutely contagious! This week we have the Warrior’s coming and that is also powerful! I do need to take a moment to mention, these women can’t say enough good things about being here, and they do return every year 😊 What is so gratifying about groups like these coming back year after year, is that they really do become part of the family! We ask about the children, and exuberate over weddings and births, talk about their travels and laugh at comedic stories! We are already missing them and can’t wait for next year!

We truly are very blessed here at Black Bear Lodge, to have some marvelous groups that return year after year. The families that come here for reunions, growing by the year! We have one family reunion that started many years ago when a lovely couple came for their honeymoon, and now they come with their great grandchildren! I can’t begin to explain how that makes us feel 😊

Ok, enough gushing, we have an incredible summer coming up here beginning with Memorial Day celebrations!!! Chowderfest, Casting for Kirby, Pemi Baker Beekeepers Association will be here for the Speaker Series, Sip & Wine, but if you want to participate, you will have to pre-purchase your tickets for that event. There will, of course, be the Animal Encounter Series, a book sale and live music playing almost the entire time! This is just the beginning for the summer fun, Bear Cubs!

All this fun, all summer long, right at your fingertips. All you have to do is pick up that phone and I promise, we will answer and make your stay here with us a memorable one. Maybe, it’ll be the visit you decide to come back for your first annual family reunion, friend getaway, church retreat, class reunion, work retreat! There is certainly something to be said about staying in a condo hotel, feeling like you’re at home but have coffee served in the morning, staff to help at any time and all the wonderful amenities! You just can’t beat that!
