The next 3 weeks here at the Black Bear Lodge are just the absolute perfect time to get that last minute summer getaway for the family before school starts back up! But, for this coming weekend, there are all kinds of great activities and events to embrace the last breath of summer.

Check in with us on Friday and head to the square for a relaxing early meal before watching Theater Under the Stars perform “Interactive Robin Hood” right next to Town Square. Maybe stop and listen to some live music from the gazebo while sitting with your toes in the sand. Or head over to the Valley Pub & Restaurant to enjoy an appetizer and belt out some tunes during karaoke! Saturday is a perfect day to rent some bikes early, enjoying some fall-like morning temps. Maybe ride over to the Clubhouse and enjoy a beautiful breakfast with a phenomenal view of the mountains and greens. Next, have a light lunch prepared in your room to bring out to our large deck out front. Just so relaxing! Now, go hop on the chairlift on Snow’s Mountain for a hike down the cascades! So many places to sit on a rock and listen to the lapping of water on the rocks and the sound of the cascades falling. Magical!

Hopefully, you have thought ahead and booked that extra day at the Black Bear, but if not, don’t worry! One of our front desk staff is here to help with that. Sunday morning, get up early for the non-denominational Church Chair. Such an incredible setting! This week, you can actually meet over at the rec department and get transportation to Squam Lake where you can “Paddle Squam” for a few hours. If not, you can bring the kiddos to Town Square to see the Animal Encounters show, this week featuring the owls of New Hampshire. Super beautiful creatures! Then take the family on a trolley ride that is a 1 hour long guided historical tour of this beautiful little town. Go have a relaxing dinner at one of the restaurants, or pack up a picnic dinner for the beach!

Wrap your stay up with a nice dip in the hot tub before a restful evening to end your stay at the Black Bear Lodge. We hope to see you this weekend in Waterville Valley!
